Do you suffer from regular nosebleeds?

We all know someone who has had at least one nosebleed in their lifetime. Nosebleeds can often occur at end of a common cold.

However nosebleeds are also a sign of HHT. 90% of sufferers of HHT complain of frequent nosebleeds.

If you or someone you know has nosebleeds quite regularly, the following questions should be asked:

  • How regular are they?
  • Does anyone else in my immediate family suffer them? If so, check to see if nosebleeds are a common occurrence in your family tree.

Once nosebleeds have been deemed to be of regular occurrence within your family/extended family, a referral should be made to your GP, or our Centre of Excellence, for genetic testing of HHT.
